Changes in Containerization

This webinar will cover globalization in the context of the changing face of containerization and implications for Canadian and North American ports. It will look at the evolution of containerization as well as recent and forthcoming changes that will impact the sector with the widening of both the Panama and Suez Canals.

The webinar will also examine current trends in a historical context, and predict on how the market will play out in the next few years, particularly if CETA and the TPP are signed.

Beginning with the rise of the Asian Tigers in the 1980s and the early stages of containerization, west coast ports have played a key role in moving goods to North American markets. With recent issues with respect to labour and truck drayage on the west coast, combined with the re-emergence of all-water services to the east coast and the emergence of Asia-Suez services, logistics professionals are wondering: what are the implications for Canadian ports?

In attending this webinar, you’ll gain insights and access to James Frost, President of MariNova Consulting, a 35 year veteran of the container industry who has seen the sector evolve from a ‘new’ technology to the mature, yet ever-evolving business it is today. You’ll leave with expert analysis and predictions on the implications of current and upcoming trends on your operations – and how to capitalize on them to maximize profitability and efficiency, said CITT.

After attending this webinar, you’ll be able to:

  • Predict how trends in containerization will impact your operations
  • Understand how the potential signing of CETA and TPP will impact your business and containerization
