TORONTO, Ont.– CITT has announced that Warren Sarafinchan, CCLP, has been awarded its prestigious annual CITT Award of Excellence for 2016. The award is given each year to a supply chain logistics professional who holds a CCLP designation and has demonstrated excellence in the field, a deep commitment to their communities, and professional integrity.
“I’m hugely honoured to receive the award given the fact that there are so many outstanding people who hold the CCLP designation” said Sarafinchan. “I wouldn’t be where I am without the designation in terms of the career growth, so being recognized by CITT and put in exceptional company of the others that have won this award is incredibly humbling. Especially as the organization has developed and expanded to such a thought leadership role in industry in the last 20 years.”
Sarafinchan started his career in the industry after graduating from the University of Alberta in 1992, and began working towards his designation from CITT at the advice of a colleague, receiving it in 1995. He began in the pulp and paper industry before moving to the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry, where he worked for companies such as Quaker, Maple Leaf and Mars, before joining Sun-Rype Products, where he currently works as VP Supply Chain / Sales.
“Nearly everywhere I’ve worked, I attribute any success I have to the teams I work with,” Sarafinchan added. “The reason I’ve accomplished what I have is the result of the amazing people I’ve been lucky enough to work with.”
Sarafinchan will be formally given the award at Canada Logistics Conference 2016, in Saint John, NB October 26-28th, where he will also present a session on succession planning.
