Nyack, NY–Stoffel Seals has acquired Canada Mayer, Canada’s largest manufacturer of metal and plastic security seals. Stoffel Seals manufactures security seals in plastic, metal and paper that meet and exceeds the latest government standards and regulations, including ISO/PAS 17712, the company says.
The acquisition brings complementary products and a successful line of metal indicative seals, which change shape or composition when tampered with, as well as increased manufacturing capability to Stoffel Seals. In addition, the company will expand its international presence by leveraging Canada Mayer’s European and Central American distribution channels.
The acquisition boosts Stoffel Seals’ share of the North American airlines market to 95%.
“Stoffel’s industry leadership is based on superior products and the ability to quickly respond to customers’ changing needs,” said Jerry Anderson, president and CEO, Stoffel Seals. “Our business is based on custom solutions and our customers value our service focus. With a wider range of products and added capacity, we’ll ensure faster manufacturing and geographic distribution throughout North America and worldwide.”
The Stoffel Seals/Canada Mayer operation features a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Laval, Quebec and 70 employees. Vic Tritton will continue to head up operations at Canada Mayer, and Ralph Mallozzi will continue to manage the security solutions business unit at Stoffel Seals. The Laval plant manufactures plastic, flat- and ball-type metal seals, cable (barrier) seals and a variety of other tamper-indicative products.
