OKEMOS, Mi.–Sakor Technologies, Inc. was selected to participate in the Council of Great Lakes Governors Québec Trade Mission 2015 in Montréal June 14-17, 2015, in conjunction with the Governors’ and Premiers’ Leadership Summit held in Québec City from June 12-14, 2015.
Organized by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) in cooperation with the United States Department of Commerce, the mission is focused on assisting small to medium sized companies from the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region export products and services.
Bob McFarland, SAKOR’s Director of Business Development, was also chosen to participate in the Governor’s Roundtable organized as part of the mission. The Roundtable is an exclusive 6-person group organized to showcase Michigan businesses and highlight available business capabilities.
As part of the trade mission, SAKOR participated in a number of meetings with prospective clients identified by MDEC, particularly in the aerospace market. SAKOR will build upon its existing Canadian customer base, which includes the University of Sherbrook in conjunction with Bombardier motorcycle, the National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) and a General Motors division.
“We are looking forward to identifying potential trading partners who can help us sell our equipment and provide in-country sales, service, and technical support,” said Randal Beattie, president of SAKOR. “Events like this make it easier for us to grow our business through export, and give us the tools and incentives we need to make connections so we can expand our operations.”
