MOL (America) Inc. establishes 90% intermodal transit on-time performance target

LOMBARD, Ill. —   MOL (America) Inc. has announced that it will soon begin public disclosure of intermodal transit on-time performance.

MOL established a 90% on-time performance goal, and has added “Intermodal Transit On-Time Performance” to the list of Regional key performance indicators (KPI) it discloses to customers on

On a quarterly basis, MOL will release its intermodal on-time performance from three origin ports in Asia to six inland destinations in the United States. The first results will be shared for April-June 2012 in early July.

The origin ports are:                                       Cai Mep, Shanghai,Yantian

The inland destinations are:                        Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Memphis, New York

“We believe that fast transit times and reliability don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Our transit times and our on-time performance are among the best in the industry,” said Rich Hiller, executive vice president/chief operating officer, MOL (America) Inc.  “In fact, in some cases, we’re performing better than the customer expectation.  But most importantly, not only have we decided to announce our performance target of 90%, but we’ll openly disclose the results, for better or for worse.”
