AMSTERDAM, Neth.–With growth in customer demand, Menlo Freight Brokerage recently expanded its brokerage operations, opening a second office in Prague after operating initially from the company’s European headquarters office in Amsterdam. The new office extends the reach of Menlo’s freight brokerage services to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Romania and Russia, in coordination with current operations in Amsterdam, the company said.
Menlo Freight Brokerage is a transportation service which extends the 3PL warehousing and supply chain management services portfolio of Menlo Logistics in Europe.
“The key aims of the new office are broadening our footprint through new business relationships in Eastern Europe and extending the high-quality services already established in Amsterdam,” said Koert Bloemers, Menlo’s General Manager Transportation Europe.
“In establishing Menlo Freight Brokerage in Europe, we have adopted best practices from our North American colleagues, where it is branded Con-way Multimodal, and combined those with our Lean tools and a team of European transport specialists to create a unique service offering for European shippers. The concept is different from the historically well-known practice in Europe: freight forwarding, or the expedition model. Brokerage has greater flexibility and operates with a wider supplier portfolio, creating better purchasing power and worldwide coverage,” said Menlo’s Managing Director, Tony Gunn.
