GEORGETOWN, Ont.–Georgetown-based Fraser Direct Distribution is moving to a new larger more modern facility near Hwy. 401 in Milton. The 105,000 ft space will be LEED certified and employ the latest in warehouse technology. The move is necessary to accommodate steady growth and will improve operational efficiencies through consolidation. Construction has begun for a move in date of June 2016, the company announced.
Fraser Direct was started by Al and Lois Fraser in January 2000 with a 60,000 square foot warehouse, a staff of 40 people and a passion for providing distribution and logistics solutions.Within six months, they had a customs brokerage license, an RF inventory control system and a robust list of warehousing, logistics and customs clients, all of whom came from client referrals, said the release.
Today, Fraser Direct is a full service 3PL providing Warehouse, Fulfillment, Distribution, Customs and Transportation services with a staff of 130.
“Over the past 12 years, we have acquired significant expertise in marketing fulfillment for the consumer packaged goods industry, obtained a site license with Health Canada to distribute natural health products, been approved to warehouse and ship pharmaceuticals, obtained a designation to ship controlled goods and put hundreds of SOPs in place to ensure that the Quality Assurance program we offer is first class,” said President Lois Fraser.
The new facility will be a consolidation of three current buildings located in Georgetown and Acton. With a customized layout and 32 foot ceilings, the new facility will accommodate 1500 more skid positions and create more efficient and effective operations. The London Supply Chain Management division was relocated to a more modern facility in 2011 and will remain in London, the company said.
