TAIPEI, Taiwan — Evergreen Line has been named the international maritime commerce recipient of Ryder System’s 2010 Carrier Quality Award. Ryder presented the awards in Miami last week to 14 carriers. Evergreen Line was the only ocean carrier so honoured.
This award recognizes excellence through a variety of metrics, including on-time performance, claims handling, customer service, technology applications, economic value and innovation. Ryder places more than $3.7 billion of its customers’ freight on selected carriers in all modes of transportation.
“We congratulate Evergreen Line for performing above expectations and deliver outstanding customer service in spite of the inherent transportation challenges in 2010, due to increased freight volumes and reduced industry capacity,” said Tim Podvin, general manager of global procurement for Ryder Transportation Management
“As a customer-centric company, nothing is more rewarding then being so recognized by those who choose our services. We at Evergreen are very proud of this award,” said Jay Buckley, executive vice-president, business, for Evergreen Shipping Agency (America).
“We are pleased to recognize and honour the top-performing 2010 carriers who understand the demanding requirements of our transportation services and share our commitment to helping customers operate more efficiently,” said Ryder vice-president of global transportation management, Dave Belter. “We congratulate this outstanding group of carriers who performed above expectations by delivering exceptional customer service.”
