CN, Teamsters reach collective agreement

OTTAWA, Ont.– Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Canadian National Railway (CN) and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference on the renewal of their collective agreement. The two parties reached agreement through direct negotiations.

The new collective agreement covering approximately 93 locomotive engineers and conductors working on the Northern Quebec Internal Short Line will run until December 31, 2018.

“I applaud Canadian National Railway and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference on reaching an agreement that will benefit everyone. The parties worked together to find solutions and came to an agreement that will provide them with long-term stability. This demonstrates what can be accomplished when employers and unions work cooperatively to achieve an agreement that meets their objectives,” said Minister Leitch.
