Con-Way Transportation Services, Inc., a subsidiary of CNF Inc., has appointed Clayton “Clay” T. Halla as president of Con-Way Truckload.
Halla joins Con- Way from Southern Cal Transport in Birmingham, Ala. where he served as vice president of operations. As president, Halla will be the senior executive responsible for the building, launching, management, profitability and growth of Con-Way’s new truckload operating unit announced in June and scheduled to begin operation in early 2005. This will include the selection of all senior management, equipment, operating systems, procedures and facilities.
He has previously served as operations manager, customer service manager and systems manager for Southern Cal, and as fleet manager for the Howard Hall Company and systems supervisor for Hall Systems, Inc.
With the appointment of Halla, Con-Way also announced that the new truckload company would be based in Memphis, Tenn.
Halla received his bachelor of science and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
