TORONTO, Ont.–In a bulletin issued this week, the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA), advised members to take note of the date for Chinese New Year on February 19, 2015, when most factories and offices in mainland China will be closed anywhere from February 18, 2015 to March 5, 2015.
“Note that the holiday dates vary by country and can range from 3 days to 2 weeks. Members are reminded of potential increased ocean freight bookings out of Asia in the weeks leading up to the holiday and that your customers are encouraged to book shipments early to avoid shipping delays. Members are also encouraged to check with their overseas agents for specific dates in their countries,” CIFFA noted.
