SINGAPORE — APL Logistics has appointed industry veteran Dave Howland as vice-president of the company’s land transport services.
Howland, a former manager in intermodal rail and truck brokerage with C.H. Robinson and Burlington Northern Santa Fe, joins APL Logistics from US-based transport and logistics company Schneider National, where he was vice-president of rail management.
In his new role, the company said Howland will concentrate on expanding APL Logistics North America domestic transport capabilities, focusing on land transport services and the link between customers’ international and domestic cargo movements.
“We’re moving forward to reposition APL Logistics in the domestic intermodal markets and in building greater coverage in our land-based transportation services to better serve our international, contract logistics and domestic customers,” said APL Logistics president, Jim McAdam. “Dave is uniquely qualified to help us reach our commercial objectives.”
“With this organization’s experience, know-how and brand, we can be a major competitor in domestic markets,” said Howland. “I’m eager to get started.”
Howland will be based at APL Logistics’ North America headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz
