Air Hong Kong Ltd. (AHK) will launch its first freighter service to Singapore, set to go on Sunday Oct. 26, pulling Hong Kong into the hub of express air cargo in the region.
AHK is already serving other Asian destinations, including Tokyo and Bangkok.
AHK will run between Hong Kong and Singapore five times weekly via the Airbus A300-600F aircraft, with a capacity of over 40 tonnes of freight.
AHK has fixed orders for six Airbus A300-600F aircraft, wet leased from the Icelandic operator, Islandsflug, to be delivered through the latter half of 2004.
"AHK is committed to better serve the cargo community by enhancing our network and service. This first direct freighter service to Singapore will further enhance Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s leading air cargo hub. At the same time, it will also strengthen the quality of service that we already provide to DHL Express," said AHK Chief Operating Officer David Saechlu.
