Accuship, an online logistics information management company, has teamed up with Veredex, a Toronto-headquartered provider of Internet logistics tools and services to the sameday delivery market, to produce an electronic shipping application for sameday and overnight package delivery via the Internet.
By integrating Veredex’s Hotship, which provides access to a network of over 1250 sameday delivery companies, Accuship is expanding its current overnight shipping enterprise.
The addition of this new service provides the ability to electronically process both sameday and overnight deliveries from a single site. Accuship clients can now use the expanded desktop application to request service, print waybills, track shipments, receive consolidated invoices, and review online reports for sameday deliveries.
“We recognize that sameday delivery is a critical piece in the overall supply chain,” said Kevin D. Kimery, president of Accuship. “We have been approached by a number of our Fortune 500 clients to add this service. However, because of the fragmented nature of the sameday market and its under-utilization of technology, this would have been a challenging product for us to develop on our own. We looked at several potential partners, but Veredex was the dominant player with the most mature technology.”
Accuship has been named one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 500 fastest growing companies. It claims to be the only company offering a multi-carrier business-to-business system that integrates shipping, tracking, accounting and reporting capabilities to optimize the entire shipping process from carrier selection through bill presentment and payment.
