CITT’s Toronto Area Council elects new executive

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.–On August 31st, 2016 at a General Meeting that took place at Kuehne + Nagel headquarters in Mississauga, the Toronto Area Council of the CITT elected a new executive Council.

The Council for 2017 will be:

Chair:  Duane Chiasson CCLP, Business Development, Effective Logistical Solutions-Independent Contractor of Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.

Vice-Chair:  Michael Upwood, CCLP Director of Sales, Dedicated Accounts for Tandet Dedicated

Treasurer:  Grace Di Marca, CCLP, CCS, CTCS, National Manager, Customs Consulting, Kuehne + Nagel Ltd.

Secretary:  Bill Carter, CCLP, CCFF, Yusen Logistics (Canada) Inc., Export Supervisor

Events Co-ordinator:  Demi Todorov, CCLP, CTCS, CCS (CA/US)|Manager Client Services and Solutions, Thompson Ahern International

Member at large; Tom Pauls, CCLP, Managing Director of SCL Search, Supply Chain and Logistics Recruitment

Member at large; Denise Ponte, CCLP- Business Development Professional, Effective Logistical Solutions-Independent Contractor of Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.

Duane Chiasson, in returning to a role he has served in the past said; “I am very much looking forward to leading a great group of individuals who volunteer their time to bring together events for like-minded and interested logistics professionals. The scope and importance of the networking found at these events has grown over the years as all events are becoming quality driven.”

The outgoing Chair, Tom Pauls, plans to remain involved with the CITT TAC as a Member at Large.

“In my three years as Chair we’ve had some fantastic events and set new records for attendance,” said Pauls. “I’ve learned a lot about leadership and project management, and it’s been a tremendous privilege to lead a dedicated team of volunteers for the CITT TAC.”
