GS1 Canada appoints two new executives to its Board of Governors

TORONTO, Ont.--Supply chain standards organization GS1 Canada announced the following appointments to its Board of Governors.



TORONTO, Ont.–Supply chain standards organization GS1 Canada announced the following appointments to its Board of Governors.

Grant Froese, Chief Administration Officer, Loblaw Companies Ltd., oversees a number of centralized functions for LCL, including Supply Chain, IT, E-Commerce, Loss Prevention, Food Safety/Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Control Brands, GNFR, Off-shore Procurement and Business Process Design. His primary area of focus is currently Loblaws’ SAP implementation – the largest retail SAP deployment in North America. He joined Loblaw in 1978 as a store colleague and held various category and leadership positions within the organization. Senior roles have included EVP, Western Market; EVP, Merchandising; and EVP, Discount Division. He was appointed to his current position in September 2013. He studied Business Management at the University of Calgary..

John LeBoutillier, President & Chief Executive Office, Unilever Canada, began his career in account management at Ogilvy & Mather advertising. He joined the US operations of Kraft Foods in 1992 and held a succession of posts in the Beverage Division. After leading the integration of the newly acquired Balance Bar business into Kraft, he held several senior positions including SVP & General Manager of the Desserts Division; SVP, Marketing for the Nabisco Cracker business; and SVP & General Manager of the Coffee Division, in the United States. He joined Unilever in 2007 and was SVP Unilever Foods US before moving over to head the Canadian operations. He is a graduate of Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts and received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.
