PARIS, Fra.–A review of railway freight development has been completed at the request of International Transport Forum member country Mexico, to support the Mexican government’s work in transforming its railway sector over the last fifteen years.
The International Transport Forum is the transportation arm of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The report will be presented to the Mexican Senate Commission on Transport on February 19 . It provides specific recommendations regarding strengthened regulation and improved data collection as a basis for sound policy decisions.
Drafted by a team of ITF experts, the report was produced in close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport as well as key industry players including major railway companies and the Mexican Railway Association, said an ITF release. The report will be published shortly.
