Air Canada Cargo receives excellence in innovation award at Central FCA Gala

MONTREAL, QC.–Air Canada Cargo has received the Excellence in Innovation Award at the Canadian International Freight Forwarders’ Association (CIFFA) Forwarders’ Choice Awards (FCA) Gala for the central region, the airline said in a release.

This year CIFFA introduced a new format, and the focus is now on networking and the community. The new FCA Leadership Awards are awarded in four categories:

• Environmental Excellence

• Humanitarian Excellence

• Excellence in Innovation

• Outstanding Community Contributions

The Central region event was held on Thursday April 10, 2014, and was attended by close to 500 participants. Earlier this month, the regional committee selected associate member firms to be recognized for their social contributions.

“As a long-time associate and partner with CIFFA, Air Canada Cargo is grateful for this recognition from the voting committee and commends CIFFA for organizing and overseeing these awards, which have become a mark of excellence in our industry,” says Matthieu Casey, General Sales Manager, Canada.

“It’s important to note that Air Canada Cargo was the only airline to win an award at this event, and this was a great honor,” continued Casey. “The awards are now combined for all CIFFA Associate members, and are no longer divided by mode of transportation.”

Air Canada Cargo was recognized for its iLynx and iRamp technogies, and and its mobile application.

“In this heavily regulated environment, innovations like these are what gives us a competitive edge and ultimately allow us to evolve in efficiency and speed, and ultimately to better serve our customers,” says Casey.
